Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa Donor Bill of Rights

A Citizen Advocacy donor has the right to:

  1. Be informed of Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa's mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
  2. Be informed of the identity of those serving on Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa's governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
  3. Have access to the organization's most recent audited financial statements.
  4. Be assured your gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
  5. Receive acknowledgement and recognition.
  6. Be assured that information about your donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law. Citizen Advocacy does not sell, trade or borrow lists.
  7. Professional and courteous treatment by Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa representatives.
  8. A clear explanation of the relationship between the person soliciting donations and Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa.
  9. Receive prompt, truthful and complete answers to any questions you have about contributions to Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa.
