Meet Ruby Ann.

When she required personal identification, she was told by a Canadian government agency that she didn't exist. Because she has a developmental disability, cannot read, and at age 65, has no remaining family, she didn't know how to legally prove her existence.

Luckily, Linda, a volunteer advocate from Barrhaven, was there to support Ruby Ann and sort things out. Through Linda's persistence, Ruby Ann was able to obtain much-needed identification and, in the process, prove that she did indeed exist. This is just one example from the nine years they've been matched.
